B2B vehicle auctions and marketplaces in Europe 2026: comparison for dealers

Dealers, importers and exporters buying vehicles wholesale in Europe face two fundamentally different routes: the auction and the fixed-price marketplace. This overview sorts the relevant platforms by business model, access requirements, publicly quoted buyer fees, vehicle types, markets, languages and handling — and states for every provider where the information came from and when it was retrieved.

Two models, two different calculations

The European B2B vehicle trade runs on two models that differ far beyond the user interface — they change the entire calculation. On an auction platform the purchase price is only settled at the end. A dealer appraises a vehicle from photos, a condition report and its history, sets a maximum bid, and finds out after the deadline whether the car is his. The attraction is a possible advantage over market level; the flip side is planning risk, because a vehicle earmarked for a specific customer can go to another bidder in the final minute.

On a fixed-price marketplace the sequence is reversed. The price exists before the decision, the vehicle is either available or it is not, and the calculation towards the end customer can be closed before the order is placed. That is the route Worldtrader24 takes: EU new cars, pre-registered cars, stock vehicles and factory orders are offered at firm net partner prices, visible once a buyer has been approved as a verified business customer. There is no bidding process, no auction deadline and no knock-down you can miss.

Both models are legitimate, and most professional buyers use them side by side. What matters is not to confuse them: an auction bid is a bet on residual value, a fixed-price order is a procurement decision with a known margin. Calculating both in the same spreadsheet produces results that do not exist.

The platforms compared

The table below lists the platforms commonly used in European B2B trading. Only what each provider publicly states about itself has been included, and every row carries its source and retrieval date. Where a provider does not publicly quantify fees, the entry reads “on request” — an estimate would be dishonest here, because buyer fees nearly everywhere depend on the hammer price, the vehicle type and the buyer’s contract status.

Deliberately absent: any judgement on service quality, speed of handling or satisfaction. Such verdicts cannot be made fairly without comparable, consistently collected data, and an invented star rating helps nobody buy a car. What you get instead are the hard, checkable differentiators — model, access, fee logic, vehicle types, markets, languages, paperwork.

When an auction, when a fixed price?

Auctions show their strength where the vehicle itself is the unknown: lease returns, fleet disposals, damaged and salvage cars. There is no list price to read the value from, and that is precisely why bidding works. A buyer with condition-appraisal experience, in-house reconditioning and tolerance for standing time can earn margins that new-car business never offers.

A fixed-price marketplace shows its strength where the vehicle is known and the customer is concrete: a customer asks for a specific new car in a specific specification, the dealer needs a reliable figure today and a confirmation tomorrow. Bidding would be a step backwards here, tying a promise made to the end customer to a knock-down outside the dealer’s control.

As a rule of thumb: the greater the uncertainty about condition and the freer the resale planning, the more an auction fits. The more concrete the end customer and the tighter the delivery promise, the more a fixed price fits. Hybrid features — buy-now options inside auction platforms, quote requests inside fixed-price platforms — blur the line but do not change the underlying logic of the calculation.

Worldtrader24 as a fixed-price B2B marketplace

Worldtrader24 is a pure fixed-price marketplace for trade purchasing — not a car dealership and not an auction. It offers EU new cars, pre-registered cars, stock vehicles and factory orders from EU sources; every published vehicle has its own detail page with specification, consumption and emission figures under the German Pkw-EnVKV rules, and an availability status.

The platform runs in 14 languages (German, English, Italian, French, Spanish, Polish, Dutch, Romanian, Russian, Arabic, Chinese, Croatian, Turkish and Portuguese), each with its own addresses. Prices are not shown to guests: net partner prices are visible only after approval as a verified business customer. Publicly visible are specification, availability and, where held, the manufacturer’s recommended retail price as a gross figure.

Handling includes COC documents for EU-wide registration, export and transport paperwork, and delivery into the target markets. For Austria the platform shows the NoVA levy separately, because otherwise it distorts the calculation.

The Worldtrader24 inventory currently holds 15,268 published vehicles, across 9 makes, of which 5,271 are available immediately. All figures come from the published inventory and change daily.

Country section: delivery and registration in the target market

A purchase price without a target market is only half a figure. Between the contract and the registration sit country-specific obligations: acquisition tax in the country of destination, proof of the intra-Community supply, technical acceptance via the COC certificate and, in Austria, the NoVA levy. Each market served therefore has its own page covering the process, the paperwork and the tax treatment.

How to pick the right platform for your business

Selection starts with your own business model, not with the platform. A workshop that reconditions young used cars and sells regionally needs access to lease returns and fleet disposals within a short radius — for that buyer, supply density nearby matters far more than the number of countries served. An exporter shipping new vehicles to third markets needs the opposite: predictable availability, complete paperwork, and prices that are fixed before any commitment is made to the buyer.

The second filter is vehicle type. A buyer of new and pre-registered cars will find little usable stock on salvage and total-loss platforms; a salvage specialist will find nothing on a new-car marketplace. That sounds obvious, yet it is the most common source of disappointment, because many platforms advertise large headline counts whose composition only becomes visible after registration.

The third filter is handling. What matters is not whether a platform offers transport and documents, but whether it states bindingly who supplies which proof — certificate of conformity, export paperwork, evidence of intra-Community supply. Where that responsibility is left open, it ends up with the buyer, unpaid.

The fourth filter is language. A buyer who reads listings, equipment lists and status messages in his working language makes measurably fewer mistakes about equipment and delivery dates than someone working through a foreign language. Worldtrader24 therefore publishes every public page across 9 brands in fourteen languages, each with its own address per language.

The fifth filter is how quickly an enquiry turns into a binding figure. On a fixed-price marketplace that takes minutes, because the price already exists. In an auction it takes days, because only the hammer decides. Both are fine — as long as you do not promise an end customer the speed of one model on the terms of the other.

What the stock actually offers today

Figures without a date are worthless in vehicle trading, because stock changes daily. Worldtrader24 currently lists 15,268 vehicles, 5,271 of them immediately available, across 9 brands. Immediately available means the car physically exists and is not still in production or inbound. The remainder are stock and factory-order vehicles with a stated delivery window.

That distinction matters more than it sounds. An offer with a short lead time and an offer with nine months of waiting are two different commercial products, even for the same model. Mixing them in one list produces the wrong capital-tie-up figure. Every vehicle page therefore states whether the car is immediately available, in stock, or orderable.

Publicly visible are equipment, availability, consumption and emission values and, where held, the manufacturer’s recommended retail price as a gross figure. Net partner prices appear only after approval. That is not a marketing decision but a consequence of these being commercial terms between businesses.

For comparison against auction platforms this means: a price comparison between a hammer result and a partner price only works if both sides contain the same items — vehicle, fee, transport, documents, tax in the destination country. The second page of this series sets out exactly that breakdown.

FAQ

What is the difference between a B2B auction and a B2B marketplace?

In an auction the price emerges from bids and is only final once the deadline passes; the knock-down may not happen at all. On a fixed-price marketplace the price is known before the decision and the vehicle can be ordered directly. Both are B2B, but the calculation and the risk are fundamentally different.

Are all listed platforms restricted to trade buyers?

Access rules differ per provider. The comparison table states only what each provider publicly says about itself, with source and retrieval date. Worldtrader24 is open to commercial buyers only, and prices appear only after verified approval.

Why are buyer fees missing for some platforms?

Because the provider does not publicly quantify them. Buyer fees often depend on the hammer price, the vehicle type and the contract status. We write “on request” rather than estimate a figure.

Which vehicle types does Worldtrader24 offer?

EU new cars, pre-registered cars, stock vehicles and factory orders, plus light commercial vehicles. Damaged and salvage vehicles are not part of the offer — auction platforms are the right address for those.

How do I see the prices?

Net partner prices are visible after free approval as a verified business customer. Without an account the platform shows specification, availability and, where held, the manufacturer’s recommended retail price as a gross figure.

Which countries do you deliver to?

The European target markets listed in the country section. Each country page describes the process, the paperwork and the tax treatment in that market.

Where do the details about other platforms come from?

Exclusively from the providers’ own public statements. Every row carries a source and a retrieval date. No third-party ratings, market shares or user reports are reproduced.
