During Tesla’s recent quarterly investor call, which largely centered on discussions about their robotaxi initiatives, the electric vehicle company also unveiled the new Tesla Model 3 Performance on Wednesday. This model introduces a track mode specifically designed for racing, an adaptive suspension system, and several other enhancements that are part of the updated Model 3 „Highland“ refresh. These additions seem to nudge the Model 3 Performance closer to the luxury vehicle segment, while also enhancing its performance capabilities. Additionally, this model might qualify for EV tax credits, unlike other versions of the Model 3.

On Tuesday, Vietnam’s Vinfast revealed that it has established agreements with twelve new U.S. dealerships to distribute its electric vehicles. This move increases its presence to 18 franchised dealerships, alongside 15 company-owned outlets in California. To date, Vinfast has achieved only a small portion of its global target of 100,000 vehicle sales for the year, so this expansion could assist in boosting visibility and accessibility to potential buyers.

The 2025 Mercedes-Benz G-Class EV has been unveiled, and while it lacks the silicon-anode battery technology originally anticipated, it poses a formidable challenge to competitors like the Rivian R1S, GMC Hummer EV, and Tesla Cybertruck. Named the G 580 with EQ Technology, the vehicle features a special G-Turn capability on slippery surfaces and could potentially offer over 300 miles of EPA range.

According to a recent evaluation by Consumer Reports, Tesla boasts the lowest ownership expenses compared to any other car brand. The report highlights that the average maintenance cost for a Tesla over a decade is approximately $4,035, significantly lower than that of other manufacturers, including Toyota.
