Electric Vehicle Prices Decline, Lexus UX Hybrid Efficiency, Model G-Wagen Goes Die-Cast: Car News Update

The 2025 Lexus UX 300h is now exclusively available as a hybrid, with its all-wheel-drive variant seeing a significant improvement in fuel efficiency. This model now achieves 43 miles per gallon in combined driving and has an entry price of approximately $40,000.
CarMax’s yearly report indicates that the leading used electric vehicles (EVs) are now selling for up to $5,000 less than they did the previous year. The Tesla Model 3, Tesla Model Y, and Nissan Leaf remain prominent on this list, all showing notable price decreases. Additionally, this year’s roster of bestsellers features a reduced number of luxury EVs from brands other than Tesla.
Last week saw the launch of the 2025 Mercedes-Benz G 580 featuring EQ Technology, also known as the electric G-wagen. This week, a more accessible variant has been introduced. Mattel’s Matchbox is offering a luxury die-cast electric G-wagen crafted from recycled metals and eco-friendly plastics, with plans to release a widely available model this autumn.
