Large batteries and hydrogen fuel cells are typically viewed as competing methods for powering emission-free trucks, but Toyota is blending these technologies in its hydrogen fuel-cell semi-truck by incorporating a large battery that cannot be plugged in. This approach enhances the use of their fuel-cell technology. This dual-system strategy may also be applied to upcoming pickup models.

Former President and current Presidential hopeful Donald Trump is said to have sought $1 billion in contributions from leading oil executives at Mar-a-Lago, offering in return to eliminate tighter EPA emissions regulations expected to boost electric vehicle sales. However, as many of these firms have rebranded themselves as more environmentally friendly „energy companies,“ the additional pollution could conflict with their desired public persona.

In an unexpected development, the petroleum behemoth BP might step in to save Tesla Supercharger locations that were left hanging following Tesla’s baffling move to scale back its Supercharger initiative. BP plans to allocate $1 billion by 2030 for this purpose, with around half of this amount being spent in the next two to three years. This includes the installation of 3,000 chargers across the U.S., some of which will be at major hubs featuring 12 or more charging stations, dubbed Gigahubs.
