Ford has announced plans to introduce more affordable electric vehicles, despite revealing significant financial losses in its EV sector for the first quarter. Company leaders shared that while they have successfully reduced expenses with the Mustang Mach-E EV, they are struggling to implement the necessary price reductions to remain competitive.

Mazda has infused its distinctive design sensibility into the EZ-6, an electric sedan that features technology from Changan Automobile, a Chinese company. While the vehicle’s driving range appears to align well with the preferences of American consumers, Mazda has not confirmed whether it will be available in markets outside of China.

Toyota has announced plans for a new three-row electric SUV to be manufactured in Princeton, Indiana, beginning in 2026. This vehicle will be a companion model to another three-row electric SUV slated for production in Kentucky starting in 2025. Reports indicate that the SUV produced in Indiana may be a Highlander EV. Meanwhile, the Kentucky-produced SUV is expected to feature the most advanced manufacturing technologies that Toyota has hinted at introducing in recent years.

Honda has announced intentions to establish an electric vehicle (EV) hub in Ontario, Canada, with an investment of $11 billion. Scheduled to commence operations in 2028, this facility is projected to manufacture as many as 240,000 electric vehicles annually. This move aligns with the growing demand for Honda’s EVs, emphasizing the company’s commitment to producing vehicles in North America.
